Very nice staff, well-equipped rooms with natural dark wood furniture, Flat screen tv/pc station, rain shower in the bathroom was my highlight. If you're accustomed to vegetarian diet products, breakfast is delicious. Friedrichshain is an upcoming quarter of berlin with lots of nice small shops, cafés and restaurants. I'd recommend taking a walk to the close-by area around "Simon-Dach-Str." To choose from a vast variety of option for lunch/dinner/shopping. City Center can easily reached by public transport or, even better, rental bicycles within 30mins.
It was noticable that the hotel has only just opened from time-to-time. The breakfast on sunday was a bit of a stop-go, since it took them too long to refill the breakfast buffet (I'd recommend to go early when there's less people, 'cause when we did that service was perfect). Hopefully they will also raise the acceptance of the hotel in that area since at the moment they are facing some problems with local leftist communities. Anyways, those are all merely matters of phasing-in inconsistency, so I have no problem fully recommending the hotel for a stay in Berlin.

Good breakfast. Nice atmosphere in lobby.
We didnt like the sliding bathroom door in our hotel room - no privacy.

Great value hotel, room comfortable although certain items advertised as being included such as IPOD docking station weren't there!
Advertised was a roof top spa to be opened in Autumn, we stayed in November expecting the spa to be there but when asked they said it wasn't opening until December - not quite Autumn which was a real shame as this is one of the reasons for selecting this hotel!
